Things that I've learned:
2. No matter what they say, at a location or on the main corporate customer service, they will not make sure you get a specific make/model, even with a ton of notice and confirming it's part of their regular inventory
The car was good. I ordered a mid size hybrid. They said they had to look and see if they had one and that they may need to "bring one down from upstairs". I think they do this because they hope that you will just pick another car that is either more expensive or not a hybrid so they can conserve those. Weak sauce either way.
3. You can't add a second driver to the rental without going to a location in person. Even if you are hours away from a location. Or having an emergency. Or the person has rented with them before. Or you offer to pay a bunch more money.
Rented SUV. Great service and SUV was clean and a high end unit not a cheap one. We had a 4 year old and car seat install was easy. Turn in was fast n efficient.
This Enterprise location is great; they were fast and friendly.
Rented on the 'fly' locally this weekend and we got an unexpected, deep savings on the rate! Even upgraded and spent less than 1/2 of the quoted online rate for the smaller size!
The setup in BWI is smooth. Although like most newer airports, you have to take a shuttle to the center, it's only about 8 minutes and the buses come regularly. When you get there, checking in is easy and if you don't have a reservation you can make one using a kiosk right next to the counter. The process is incredibly streamlined, with a quick walk out the back door you're greeted by another employee with a tablet who already knows which car you're headed for and escorts you to do the checkout. Everything is electronic and you're on your way quickly. I really can't see how it could get much easier.
I'm usually happy with ERC. This time I needed a baby seat for my 10 month old. It took three different seats to find one that was equipped enough to be hooked into the car. Their baby seats are simply pitiful. Embarrassing may be a better adjective. It's alarming to see how little Enterprise cares about their customer's children by offering such a minimally adequate seat.
1. If you have a question about the car you've rented, Google is better than calling and asking Enterprise. They have no clue.
I only rent from Enterprise. BWI ALWAYS has the BEST selection.
Great customer services walking in and dropping off! We will see you soon, Enterprise.
Enterprise in general is more good than bad, but there are definitely times that I've been wildly frustrated.
