I always use them rates are good and customer service is good... of course no rental car company is perfect and will sometimes displease you but they make sure your experience ends happy and satisfied... thank you to the manager Ms Shantell I believe for an issue involving my car not having windshield fluid 12/15/17
Customer service was great. Had me in and out quickly. However, upon return we left a bag with souvenirs and a digital camera in the back seat. I didn't have time to go back to retrieve it. Called 800 number (no local number available) and the best they could do was tell me to file a lost & found report through the website which I have done. I am hopeful that they will do the right thing and call me about the bag. My kids and I are on pins and needles waiting. I'm reserving my 5-star status based on getting my family's items returned.

The process of getting into a rental went fairly easy and quick. I had a reservation, made online as part of a package deal. I was traveling via military orders and had received a free upgrade coupon from the military travel agency through Dollar. Here's the reason for 3 stars: When I arrived at BWI Dollar, the lady at the counter informed me that they do not honor the Dollar free upgrade coupons for first responders and military. Her reasoning was because, "all the military guys print them." In fact, all the military guys are sent these via the travel agency in the DTS system--an unknown fact to this Dollar rental facility apparently. Not a problem for me, but was a bit taken aback at how rude she was about the coupon ordeal. I honestly didn't care for an upgrade, but figured why not! She then says she can do me a favor and still get me into a free upgrade if I completed a survey--with instructions now printed on my paperwork. This turned out to be wrong too, because as I went to the car pick-up area, I was informed that there were only two cars to pick from anyway! There was a white Chevy Cruze and a grey Cruze. I chose the white and a family also there at that chose the Grey one. The car was not very clean and smelled funny. It was a newer model, under 500 miles, and even had a cool auto-off feature for fuel savings. Actual car experience A-. Rude lady with an attitude at counter C-. On behalf of all the military "guys," keep your coupon and just save the attitude! Thanks.
My experience with dollar car rental has always been great except for this last trip that I had in Baltimore when I had to switch cars because of vehicle's space and I realized I was charged early return fee and other three hours fee's for picking up vehicle early... I was hoping they would have waived such fees considering I have been a loyal customer for almost 19 years... With that been said, am still going to rent from Dollar car rental in the future.
